I agree that is a good model to use especially in a SaaS setup. In fact, we used that model in Siterra. One of the challenges we faced with Wiki was it was not a great publishing technology for vendor to push the documentation. It is always the training that is given to us that got us going. One of the SaaS solutions we use has a wiki for documentation. The software vendor puts their official documentation on a read-only wiki and lets each tenant have a copy that they can edit to add more company specific user-help, instructions etc. In all the years we have received documentation from the ERP provider, I don’t recollect reading manuals.
