I came across one of the most intriguing companies that has been funded to do trade-ins. It seems like anything green is getting funded these days. But I particularly like this company for I am one of those personally impacted by not being able to trade in my old cellphone when buying a new one.
Flipswap recently raised $14M in Series B funding to collect your old cellphone that you might not be knowing what to do with. While you trade-in your old cellphone you have the option of either getting cash/credit or having a tree planted in your name. They also have a built-in KBB like resale value calculator to tell you how much your phone would be valued at.
While you are at it, also make sure you carry the DC charger and the automobile charger that comes with the phone with you to recycle.
