Hara Software, the Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers funded, SaaS startup that helps companies be environmentally friendly by effectively tracking and managing their carbon footprint announced the availability of its software.

The company is led by ex-SAP executives from the GRC space.

  • Amit Chatterjee, CEO
  • Udo Waibel, Chief Technology Officer

Hara, meaning “green” in hindi, with its on-demand Environmental and Energy Management (EEM) solution helps companies discover, inventory, track and manage consumption of environmental resources like water, energy, waste and carbon resources.

Once captured, companies can plan, forecast and manage the resource consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and resultant environmental impact. Hara EEM enables organizations to comprehensively and securely manage their environmental record and leverage best practices in order to improve efficiency, manage risk and maximize shareholder value.

The company website says they already have 12 customers, including The Coca- Cola Company and City of Palo Alto.

Besides all the rumblings coming out of the large ERP vendors, there have been a few startups that have popped up in this space to help companies measure, monitor and manage carbon footprint.
